Today we began handwriting practice.  We have a special way we move on the carpet to quickly get out whiteboards, markers and erasers.  We follow a traffic pattern that we practiced today and did a great job!  We practiced writing the letter Ll and being sure to start our letters at the top and pull down.
Today we also talked more about rules and why they are important.  We read a story called Bella's Rules, by Elizabeth Haden Guest.  The little girl in the story, Bella, thinks she can make her own rules!  Ask me to tell you some of the things Bella did !  Her parents become very upset with her, so they call granny.  Granny comes to visit and brings Bella a puppy!  Bella learns about why rules are so important when her puppy does things that she doesn't like!

We took a different kind of brain break today.  We danced with scarves today!
In math today, we sorted collections.  Children had to find more than one way to sort each of the collections.  We also did some counting!  I am learning so much about the children and what they already know!  We added a few more things to our math station today, and found out that many of the children can already count by tens.  We moved beads on the abacus and counted by tens and counted on by ones to see how beads were moved.  Wow!

The children had a great time in music today with Mr. Sheets!  Ask me to tell you what we did in music!

Have a nice evening!
