Today we worked with short a words, specifically words with at in them.  We did a Writing Spree and practiced writing short a words quickly.  It's important for beginning writers begin to become fluent and fast in writing words they know, or can encode quickly.  Ask me to show you how I can write words with at in them, such as cat, quickly.
We continued to learn more about measuring.  We learned about estimating the length and height of objects using a measuring stick as a reference.  We learned about using non-standard units.  We used cubes today, but can also use links, inch worms, and other items that are the same size.  We estimated then checked by measuring.

Be sure to check out our homepage for the video of This Land is Your Land.  It played fine for me at school, but at home on my Mac Book it buffers constantly, so I hope you have good luck.  Such sweet voices singing!

Have a nice evening!
Miss Wolfe
