Today we watched a short video to practice retelling and using pictures to tell a story.  First we watched the story and retold the story thinking about what got the story going, what happened in the middle, and how the story ended.  We watched the story a second time and stopped along the way to think about how the characters were feeling and what they were doing.  Although the story is funny, it has an important lesson to teach about bullying.  Watch the story with me and ask me to tell you about what I learned.
AS you might imagine, the natural consequence for the little birds got a huge laugh!
We learned a fun word game today called Switcheroo.  This simple game starts with a three letter word.  To play, you change one letter at a time to make a new word.
You cannot use the same word twice.  This is a great game to play while waiting for dinner in a restaurant, on a plane, or anywhere there is a wait.  All you need is a pencil and paper.  Here's the game we played today:

We made wind instruments in science.  We collaborated and used a LOT of tape to come up with something that would measure either how strong the wind was or the direction of the wind.  They did a great job of trying to redesign their instrument after testing it in our high tech lab with the mini-fan with only one speed!

Enjoy the long weekend!
