Today was another great day! We started an daily routine called Talk Time. Each morning we will be working with a photograph, artwork or a short video clip. The children will study the picture first on their own, then turn and talk to a buddy about it, then share together. We were focused on one of academic learning skills, analysis, so the children were talking about parts of the painting they noticed. Looking at the parts and thinking about the whole painting helped us understand what may have been happening in the painting. Ask me to tell you about what I noticed. We also began talking about the Bear Necessities. The Bear Necessities are our school expectations. We talked about what the word necessity means and are beginning to understand that these are things we must do to be safe, happy and learning. We talked mostly about being kind today. Below you will see a chart with the Bear Necessities and the chart we made about being kind. Ask me to tell you about how I can be kind at school. We went to P.E. today and met Mr. Romans. The children learned about the P.E. routines and got to move around a lot! Ask me to tell you what I did in P.E. We will go to P.E. on Wednesdays so be sure children are dressed for movement and wearing tennis shoes so they can participate safely.
The children did a great job again today in the cafeteria. They earned a Bear Buck, which is a reward system that has been started for lunch, recess, hallways, and specials. We will add to our Bear Bucks in the classroom as well. Thank-you for sending back the website form so I can add pictures. I got permission from everyone in one day! That is amazing! It makes me think you might want to see some photos of these little whipper snappers! I'll add pictures later tonight if I can, so if you don't see a tab labeled Our Photos on the homepage, it means I'm still working on adding them. Have a nice evening! Miss Wolfe
