Ask me to tell you whose birthday it was today!  It was Pablo Picasso's birthday.   This worked out perfectly because we practiced some of the curved numbers this week, and we worked on the letter Ss today in handwriting!  I found these Picasso sketches which show how he used mostly one single line in the sketches, and many curves.  We practiced making curves, then tried to replicate the animals Picasso sketched.  Then we made them with markers so we could take them home.  Here are the sketches we studied:
