We visited with our mealworms today!  Our timing could not have been better.  One of the mealworms was molting, which we had just learned about in a video about animal life cycles.  Our mealworms will go from a complex metamorphosis.  They are in the larva stage right now, although a few of them look as if they are moving into the pupa stage.  Tomorrow we will take an even closer look at the mealworms and sketch and label what we see.
In math, we worked on addition story problems.  We did a paper that had the groups already drawn for the students, so tomorrow we will work with problems where the children need to listen closely for the important information necessary to solve the problem.  They also need to listen to know what the problem is asking them to find.
In reading, we are working on identifying the topic and supporting details in stories.  We are working with photographs to understand what the topic is, as well as analyzing the photographs to determine what the supporting details are in the picture that help them understand the topic better.  Here's the photograph we worked with today.
Have a nice evening!
