We started our day by studying these two amazing birds, and also incredible photographs! We looked at their external features and talked about how that helps them survive in their habitat. Ask me to tell you about their external features. We watched a video today that helped us learn more about animal parts and how they help the animal to survive.
In reading, we reviewed information and fiction books by choosing one from our library and telling how we knew it was either fiction or an information text. We know that fiction stories have characters, settings, problems and solutions, but also have events or characters that happen or behave in a way that isn't natural. We know that information texts have text features, facts, and are not a story that needs to be read from beginning to end. We also know that often these texts have photographs, although not always. We found several Fly Guy books that were both fiction and information! We have a number of Fly Guy fans in the room! We read the story Plants Feed Me, by Lizzie Rockwell, to find key details to answer the question "How do plants feed people?" We used the text and illustrations to determine parts of plants that we eat. Ask me to tell you about what parts of plants humans eat. Have a nice evening! Miss Wolfe
