Ask Me About Wednesday, September 10,2014

Today we worked with cutting and gluing.  We made monster puppets by cutting pieces of paper and gluing.  The kids enjoyed telling something special about their monster puppets.  We read a story called Big Bad Bubble by Adam Rubin.  It was about monsters who were afraid of bubbles.  Ask me about the surprise at the end of the story.  What were the monsters now afraid of?
We are working on writing lists in Writing Workshop.  Today we wrote I can lists.  Lists are a great way for beginning writers to practice because they don't have to think about punctuation.  Some children are drawing pictures and writing a beginning sound for each item, some are drawing and writing a few more sounds, and some kids are writing words.  This is what we expect in kindergarten at the beginning of the year.  We have hard working kids who are really showing their best effort and working the whole time to write their list.  I'm so proud of the way they try and don't give up!  Thanks for sending me such persistent little workers!

We are going to work on trying to use quieter voices in the classroom tomorrow!
Enjoy the evening!
Juliet
