Today we started a short unit of study on trees.  We learned today about two main types of trees.  Ask me to tell you about them and show you the pictures I made of them.  We read a book called The Tree Lady about Katharine Olivia Sessions who brought trees to San Diego, California when it was mostly desert.  She had to become a tree hunter to find out the best trees to grow in that habitat.  We worked with subtraction today.  We practiced the counting back strategy and worked with taking away 1, 2 or 3.
