So much excitement today!  We studied paintings and photographs of mothers with their children.  We made connections to what we saw in the pictures and this helped guide our planning and writing of our Mother's Day Flipbooks.  The children worked very hard to do their best writing to share how they feel about their moms.  We made another surprise that may turn up in the most unexpected places over the next few days.  While they worked on these projects, I tested several children in reading.  I planned to test all afternoon as well, but we started off with a wonderful performance of Let It Go, and the children enjoyed it so much they called for an encore.  Our two dancers were eager to go, and danced more.  I have to tell you, I've had Talent Time for several years now, but the joy these two friends shared as they danced was incredible.  They loved dancing, and their friends loved watching them.  Then we worked in math stations, and I decided to just watch the kids, (and of course take a few photos along the way), and didn't end up going back to testing.  The children were encouraging and helping each other as they practiced addition.  It was a great afternoon!

I hope all the moms have a wonderful weekend.  I'm so grateful for your support and for sending me these amazing little people in such happy moods every day.  I loved reading the flipbooks the children worked so hard on, and it nice to see what they love about their moms. 

Thank-you for all the notes, gifts and for the PTA raffle prize I won for Teacher Appreciation Week.  It was such a nice week, and I'm so lucky to teach at Bells Mill!
