We started our day listening to a new Mo Willems book called Waiting Is Not Easy.  We loved it!  We also listened to an interesting alphabet book called Take Away the A.  This book plays with words!  The author removes a letter from a word to make a new word.  Check out the trailer for the book!
Then we learned a game that is similar to the book.  We played Switcheroo!  This is a fun word game that starts with a 3 letter word.  You can change one letter of the word at a time to make a new word.  Our rule is that the word has to be a real word.  We played with three letter words.  Right now, most kids are changing just the beginning sound, but some are changing the ending sound.  The middle sound, the vowel, is tricky!
We practiced counting and comparing length and heights with links today.  We also learned about the seasons, focusing on fall and winter.  We watched two BrainPop Jr. videos about fall and winter.  Ask me about something new I learned about the seasons.
Great day!  Have a nice evening!
Juliet
