Today we listened to a great story called Doodleday, by Ross Collins.  This story is about a little boy who doesn't listen to his mom and doodles even on Doodleday!  Ask me about what happens when the little boy doodles!
We spent time today learning about Zen Doodling.  We spent time focusing on being in the moment of drawing.  We looked at different doodles, then practiced different doodles that we may use when creating our own Zen Doodles.  We listened to jazz and doodled without talking.  We were really in the moment!  Watch for more information about what we are doing in the classroom to practice mindfulness.  I will be adding a tab to our website to keep you up to date on what we are doing that might be like things you are doing at home or might want to try.  I highly suggest Zen doodling!

Be sure to check out the Writing tab under Curriculum, to find our slideshow of the writing we did about the dreams we have for a better world.  I will be doing additional updates over the weekend to reflect the curriculum for the third marking period.

Have a peaceful weekend!
Juliet
