We got off to a bumpy start this morning with many children not following our established routines.  children were careless with the folders, dropped important envelopes out of their folders and just left them on the floor, and fooling around in the cubbies when unpacking.  Not everyone came to the carpet on time when our music finished, and kids did not put books away.  One book was left out and no one would take responsibility for taking it out to read today.  So we waited, and we talked about our routines and being responsible.  After such a bumpy start, I was beginning to think we would have a difficult day, but I was sure wrong.  We turned the day around and had a great day.  We worked on deep breathing, and learned about how our breathing works.  We learned some important words about breathing; ask me to tell you at least two important breathing words.  We did some writing for a very special audience; Friday, next year's kindergarten students will be visiting.  We wrote about kindergarten and will hang it in the hall for our visitors to read with their parents.  We read a book by Rosemary Wells about a dog named McDuff.  In addition to Ms. Wells' very well known Max and Ruby, Rosemary Wells also writes about a dog like she had.  In math, we worked in stations.  We are learning about plane shapes.  We made shape pictures with stencils, learning a shape strategy game, and used shapes to complete shape puzzles.

I know tomorrow will start off better than today!  Don't forget to keep working on those 1oo Day Projects!  We are so excited to celebrate our 100th Day!

Have a nice evening!
Juliet
