Today we learned about animal external features.  Ask me to give you three examples of some animal external features I know.  We also began an author study of Rosemary Wells.  We read a story called Mama Don't Go and made text-to-self connections.  We make text-to-self connections as we read to understand the story deeper.  As you read with your child, stop along the way and talk about possible places where you or your child might connect with the text based on your experiences.  Ask me to show you the signal for text-to-self connections.
We also worked on fixing up a story so it's our very best to share with our third grade buddies.
