Today we took our MAP-P test.  This test is on the computer and is a math assessment.  The assessment is not as a grade, rather as a monitoring tool.  There are 57 items on the test.  The test gets harder as the children pass more questions.  If they miss questions, the test gets easier.  It's a good tool for the teacher to see how they are progressing with the math topics we have introduced, but many of the items are not content we cover.  It's still an informative tool for us, and it gets the kids used to taking this kind of test next year.
Our reading testing is also now complete now so we can get back to a regular routine in reading.
Today we noticed some changes in our mealworms.  Some of the pupas have changed into beetles.  Two of the beetles had changed so recently they were still very light in color, and we noticed several others who are getting ready to change.  We put apples slices in for food and water for the mealworms.
We also continued working with the food groups.  We sorted food from our play kitchen.  We also played a game using two-color bean counters to find different ways to make seven.
Homework is on the Homepage.  Once again, a weird box with a date in it has appeared on the homework.  HMMMMM, I'm going to need to look into this!  Just a reminder that tomorrow is class picture day.  Thursday is the 100th day of school, and we are looking forward to sharing out 100 Day projects.  We will set them up in the classroom so we can have some visitors from the school come and see what we made.  Be sure to look in the folders for a note from the Room Parents about the Valentine's Day party.

Have a peaceful evening!
Juliet
